Michigan Man Killed in Pipeline Accident in Southern Wisconsin

February 18th, 2008 · No Comments

A Michigan man was killed in an accident involving the construction of a pipeline in southern Wisconsin. He was killed when a piece of machinery turned over on him.

The pipeline is 321 miles long and is being constructed by Enbridge Energy, a Houston-based energy company. The man that was killed was employed by Welded Construction and was an experienced worker.

The man was using a trackhoe to move a concerte weight that is used to stabilize a pipeline in marshy areas. It was not immediately clear what caused the trackhoe to tip over. It took several hours to remove the man from the trackhoe and emergency workers were on the scene from roughly 2 a.m. to 6 a.m.
